The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore recently debuted her sexy bleach blonde hair in a new picture on Instagram.
It did not take long for the drama to erupt, and everyone seems to have an opinion, and an answer to the question, should a pregnant woman dye her hair?
Here are a few chosen comments going after Marc Daly‘s wife.
One person wrote, “Pretty great color, but the old school taught us not to put chemicals or dye your hair while pregnant. Stop putting those chemicals in your head you know they go through your body! That’s what my mother would have said! Lol, beautiful.”
“I thought when you’re pregnant you are not supposed to dye your hair,” another follower added.
A third user stated: “That’s crap! You’re more sensitive during pregnancy, but if you have the same allergy as you should have, pregnant or not, then it will be fine. The chemicals do not enter the bloodstream!!”
According to medical experts from the America Pregnancy website, there is no real harm in using hair dyes or treatments while pregnant because: “Although fairly limited, most research indicates the chemicals found in both semi-permanent and permanent dyes are not highly toxic and are safe to use during pregnancy. Also, only small amounts of hair dye may be absorbed by the skin, leaving little that would be able to reach the fetus.”
However, most experts advise pregnant women to wait during the second trimester to treat their hair.
And take specific measures like wearing gloves and doing it in a ventilated area.
